* Friday's 10 Happy Things * 02

I skipped last week's 10 Happy Things because it wasn't exactly a happy week. Okay, maybe that's a little over the top. One thing actually made me happy last weekI got paid for my temp job!

On a lighter note, I'm back with my second entry!
  1. Twinsters - a documentary about identical twin sisters separated at birth and reunited by the inexorable fate. It was so heartwarming and it just makes you believe that there are some events in our life that were already sealed to happen... Fate really is whimsical.  It's crazy how one random incident could completely change one's life. The twins' reunion story is absolutely astonishing. Go watch it on Netflix!!! Pop!
  2. I finally have my own domain name. *eeeeeppp*
  3. New winter coat from Mantaray! Thanks Dad! 😉
  4. Christmas fayre
  5. Chippy - Yuuuum! Finished one bag all for myself. Ahhhh! Nothing compares to Filipino snacks.
  6. Black Friday Sale - I don't know how it suddenly became a huge thing in the UK but I am definitely not complaining! Lots of really good offers on the high street!
  7. ISAW - OMG! It's been 7 bloody years!!! I had forgotten how delicious it was.
  8. My old playlist

  9. Cetaphil - Very happy with the wonders it's doing to my skin.
  10. Gamberoni pasta from Bella Italia - I promised myself to start eating healthy again but, but, but, it's Friday and it's my favourite. . .*huhuhuhu*

The Sunday Currently | 07

It is definitely beginning to look & feel a lot like Christmas! It is bitterly cold now in the UK as the temperature's started to drop. I remember last week my friends and I were just talking about how winter this year felt a lot warmer compared to last year. Well, when it comes to THE British weather, no one can be certain of, even the forecast.

Isn't it bonkers how this week went by really quick? Moreover, there's only 32 days left before Christmas (ah, that explains the amount of shoppers yesterday). That's insane! Not so long ago I was just... (1) stressing over my dissertation, not having a clue how to even start; (2) enjoying the warm weather in sunny Venice (ahhh, the mere thought of it makes me want to go there again).

I am currently...

random Sunday Currently blogs.

a couple blogposts to be posted next week.

to Adele's new album. My favourite track is When We Were Young. How about you? *I know you love Adele as much as I do*

of migrating to Wordpress, but...

the fresh scent of my Mitchum deo. I'm not gonna lie, I was a smelly kid before... but not anymore. :)))))

for a white Christmas. If it's going to be bitterly cold, as if it is not already, this winter, why not give us snow for Christmas?

for a productive and healthier week ahead.

a long-sleeve top and leggings from H&M

my new skincare routine! I recently bought new skincare products from Amazon. I've heard so many good reviews of Cetaphil so I'm giving it a shot. I also bought a face mask from a Korean brand called Skin Food.

to go to Winter Wonderland in London next month.

warm hugs

The Sunday Currently | 06

What a series of horrendous events we had witnessed this week. I am out of words. I feel terribly sorry not just for the victims but for the entire human race. I'd like to believe that one day, somehow, the world will find peace.

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

* Friday's 10 Happy Things * 01

Hello there! Allow me to share 10 things that made me happy this week. A list of even the littlest things that made us smile at some points in our life can come handy at times when everything is not going our way.
  1. New phone! Surprise, surprise. Graduation present from the parents. Finally, a non-hand-me-down mobile phone. Thanks mum, dad.
  2. A much needed catch-up with a friend.
  3. Justin Bieber's new album: Purpose
  4. Our Christmas tree is finally up. I look forward to decorating our tree every year.

  6. 2NE1 comeback rumour ( KPOP to me is 2NE1 & BIGBANG. The only two Korean groups I know & listen to *sometimes, haha* )

Inspiring quotes to get you through life

Allow me to share a few inspiring quotes I found on Pinterest that help me get through life, especially now. I'm in that phase in life where the only thing I am sure about is that I am confused and perhaps, lost. I just finished school and slowly still adjusting to 'adulthood'. Quarter-life crisis? :)))))) I stumbled upon this article and realised that I am not alone in this 'crisis': Trying Out Adulthood: Why The Early 20s Crisis Is Definitely A Thing

I regret the times I had wished time will fast-forward so that I could escape school (deadlines, exams, essays, reports and dissertation) and start working to earn money. Is this real life? To be completely honest, I would  rather wake up early in the morning (two or three times a week) for a 9am lecture at university than to work from 9am-5pm daily. I mean, what's left to do in a day after 5pm? In the UK, all shops close at 6pm. Travelling to get back home (from where I currently work) takes me up to an hour at least by train/bus. By the time I get home, it's past 6pm already. Oh well, that's life.

  • If ever you find yourself in the wrong story, leave.
  • Sometimes you have to do the best for you and your life, not the best for everyone else.
  • Some of the best things in life are mistakes.
  • Nothing will work unless you do.
  • Be stubborn about your goals, and flexible about your methods.
  • Courage, dear heart.
  • Surround yourself with people who have dreams, desire and ambition; they'll help you push for, and realise your own.
  • Stop holding yourself back. If you aren't happy, make a change.
  • There will be a few times in your life when all your instincts will tell you to do something, something that defies logic, upsets your plans, and may seem crazy to others. When that happens, you do it. Listen to your instincts and ignore everything else. Ignore logic, ignore the odds, ignore the complications, and just go for it.
  • Stay patient and trust your journey.
  • Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.
  • Accept what is, let go of what was, have faith in what will be.

The Sunday Currently | 05

This entry's supposed to be posted two weeks ago but circumstances averted me from doing so. Anywho, as if it's not obvious from my previous blog, I just recently graduated. I am officially done with school and to my surprise, I am missing it. I'm not quite convinced yet that I am no longer a student, and that I am wholly transitioning to adulthood. Withdrawals? Perhaps it is, perhaps it's the thought of growing up -of figuring out what I really want to do with my life- that scares the sh*t out of me.

And guess what????? I got a job!!!

Oh, the places she'll go!

She believed she could, so she did!

15th October 2015, the day I graduated with the highest honours degree in Marketing. This achievement is absolutely one of the very few things I take great pride in. I am truly proud of you, Irene.

I thank my parents for being ever so supportive and so as my sisters, your mere existence gives me great motivation, more than the pressure, to do well in every thing I do. I am not the perfect 'Ate' (meaning: big sister) but I try to set as a good example. For you to follow, yes, and most importantly for you to be better.

And to my uni friends, acquaintances, teachers, lecturers, dissertation supervisor... massive thank you! I am truly grateful for the amazing three years, ARU Cambridge! Until then.

Congratulations, Class of 2015!

Now, where to?
Kid, you'll move mountains. Oh, the places you'll go!

Autumn Favourites 2015

  • Candles - I love scented candles but my most favourite scent has got to be vanilla. I love sweet scents especially in the colder seasons. Recently, I've been loving Glade's magnolia and vanilla candle. It's very sweet (but not pungent). It's more like the smell of baking cookies permeating in the air.
  • Lip colour/s - Burgundy, plum or bordeaux shades. How can you go wrong with dark lippies that match the gloomy autumn sky?
  • Drink - I don't have a specific autumn drink, but as for my favourite drink to keep myself warm, it's the Costa black forest hot chocolate.
  • TV Show - I don't get invested in TV shows that much. Frankly speaking, I don't really watch TV. I usually catch up with my current favourite TV series on Netflix. Pretty Little Liars comes back next year which leaves me one show to watch this autumn, and that is Once Upon A Time. I almost forgot, there'll be a special PLL episode in November, so there, add that.
  • Movie - I have a long list of favourite autumn/Halloween films (mostly Disney, but of course) and on top of that is Hocus Pocus!
  • Outfit - Jumpers (of all kinds, whether it be knitted, wool or simply cotton) + black skinny jeans + boots or (because I live in England...) wellies! Having said that, I need to invest in one good pair of Hunter boots!

The Sunday Currently | 03

Hello friends. My Sunday is ending soon as it's already night time here in the UK. I didn't do much today aside from cleaning our bathroom, baking and watching the NFL match between NYJ and MIA. It's all good because our family is complete. It's close to rare that we would all be at home on a Sunday. I hope you all had or will have a lovely Sunday ahead of you.

The Sunday Currently | 02

Because of this link-up, I have gotten to like Sundays more. For typical students and 'nine-to-five' workers, Sundays Sunday nights are dreadful. In my honest opinion, Sunday night blues is worse than Monday morning blues. Of course you can argue with me. Sunday nights just give me the worst thoughts and feelings more than Monday mornings. Call me bizarre but I actually LOVE Mondays! I love the hustle and bustle of Monday mornings. It gives me great energy (Oh, what better way to start a week).

The Sunday Currently | 01

So, after reading Yaya Dub's blog, I have decided to join The Sunday Currently link-up. Yes, I'm a fan! She's too likeable. Anyway, here it goes.

I have an ordinary life. Monotonous; boring; especially now that I just graduated from university... and that I am unemployed... and still single. *cue music in* (all by myself, don't wanna live...all by myyyyyyyyself, ANYMOOOOOOORE) Jokes! That can wait.

Anyway, I am currently...

Travel Diary: Bella Italia

For our very first holiday abroad as a family, we chose to go Venice, Italy. That's another destination off my travel bucket list! How did we end up travelling to Venice? We were invited by a relative.

Before travelling to a destination of your choice, why not trace your family tree first? Having someone who you can fully trust and knows the place very well will make your holiday less stressful. We didn't have to book for a transfer since they offered to pick us up at the airport. And for our first 2 nights, we stayed at their house (that saved us some euros).

In choosing an airline, it really depends on your budget. We went via Ryanair, (1) because it's a good value for money and (2) it's the only airline that flies from Standsted Airport (the closest airport to us) to Venice. My Ryanair experience wasn't bad at all, to be completely honest with you. It was okay. Although our flight to Venice was a little delayed. Just in case Ryanair left you a bad impression, easyJet (another budget airline) also offers flights to Marco Polo Airport which is nearer to Venezia St. Lucia (for about an hour or less, I think).

Let me share you some photos from our trip.

Travel Diary: Afternoon tea with the Queen

Two weekends ago, we went to Surrey to attend a Christening, also to help organise and decorate the party venue. Before we head home, we went to visit the official residence of the Queen that is the Windsor Castle. It was unplanned. Since we were only 20 minutes from Windsor, we decided to go. After all, none of us had been there before.

It wasn't the perfect weather to stroll around the castle and ride the double-decker tour bus. It was raining and all gloomy. The queue to the castle was too long that we had to wait for more than 30 minutes. Tip: Book online ahead of time. They will let you skip the long queue.
